Come out to the First Wednesday Car Show in the Village of Providence

The goal of this meet is to provide a fun family friendly environment. ALL CARS ARE WELCOME!!!! We will be parking on the grass (we will park large trucks and SUV's in the lot behind the stage to help maximize parking). Please use the entrance near Taco Mama unless we direct you to use a different entrance.

Please don't leave trash, no burnouts, no speeding, no excessive revving, no loud music, or anything else that would disturb residents in the area. We are very fortunate to have such a great venue so lets keep it and make this year bigger and better then ever!

This event is in the spirit of the old Dairy Queen Cruise-In. If you loved that event, you'll love this one—same atmosphere, same vibe, same fun, and even more food choices.

Venue
Land Trust’s Three Caves | 901 Kennamer Dr SE, Huntsville, AL 35801
Three Caves is located within the Land Trust’s Monte Sano Nature Preserve and has become one of the most unique event venues in North Alabama. For the past 12 years, the Concerts at Three Caves series has played host to such award winning entertainers as Delta Rae, Moon Taxi, Tom Braxton and Grammy Award winners, The SteelDrivers, Claire Lynch and the Legendary Muscle Shoals Review. The “not so secret” 700 seat outdoor venue is a former limestone quarry conveniently located just two miles from downtown Huntsville and gets its name from the three cave openings that accentuate and surround the venue. Three Caves has a storied entertainment history including where the band Kansas filmed their music ballad “Reason to Believe” and scenes from the 1979 post-apocalyptic move “Ravagers” were shot.
Events are held in the “bowl” outside the mine’s three large openings, which offers a comfortable ~55°F temperature year-round. The stage, surrounded on three sides by limestone rock walls, provides an unforgettable backdrop and a one-of-a-kind experience for concert-goers. As the sunset sets and the lights begin to accentuate the interior of the three caves and the exterior of the bowl, one gets the true sense that they are in store for a truly magical musical experience. Proceeds from the events held at Three Caves help the Land Trust in furthering their goals of land preservation and conservation in north Alabama.
In an interview with national music critic and Huntsville resident Matt Wake, Texas-based, saxophonist Tom Braxton described Concerts at Three Caves as “a unique venue”. “The acoustics are great, the audience is up-close-and-personal; I love playing settings like that”. “When I went out front while we were sounding checking, I was like, ‘Wow, this is like some symphony shell in Australia or something.” Tom’s sentiments are echoed by most every entertainer that has played the venue.

Saturday, June 15 featuring Mothers Finest

Tickets available for Land Trust members-only beginning May 1 and open to the public May 8.
Music which goes straight to the gut and into your legs, which aims for your heart and soul and always finds its
target: there can be no question that Mothers Finest are among the most energetic and charismatic rock groups on this planet. With their virtuoso vocalist Joyce Kennedy at the epicentre of their soundquake, a tight rhythm section which leaves nothing to be desired and masses of spirited guitar fusillades to make listeners go weak at the knees, this band has long made a name for itself in the annals of rock history. Their latest studio recording Goody Two Shoes & The Filthy Beast is soon scheduled for release.

Based in Atlanta, but hailing from a place of their own creation, Mothers Finest put Funk Rock Georgia on the world map and created the genre that fused funky, rock-solid grooves with an explosive power & high-energy, in-your-face-vocals. Though veterans of the music business & inductees into The Georgia Music Hall of Fame, if you are fortunate enough to catch them in concert you will not experience a band you would consider “old school” though you will get schooled by the raucous blend of high energy vocals, soulful modern grooves, funky rhythms & pure power!

The current line-up includes vocalists Joyce Kennedy and Glenn Murdock, bassist Wyzard and guitarist Moses Mo, all four original members of the first line-up dating back to 1970. Guitarist John Hayes and drummer Dion Derek have proved to complement Mothers Finest perfectly since their comeback in 1989. This band has rocked for more than forty years and still sounds as if they had just undergone their first baptism of fire.

Opening Artist: Unknown Lyric

Saturday, July 13 featuring Lamont Landers
More information coming soon!

Saturday, August 10 featuring Kenny Neal
Tickets available for Land Trust members-only beginning May 1 and open to the public May 8.

One of the strongest modern proponents of Baton Rouge swamp blues, Kenny Neal is a second-generation
southern Louisiana bluesman who is cognizant of the region’s venerable blues tradition and imaginative enough to steer it in fresh directions.

Neal was born in New Orleans. His dad, harpist Raful Neal, was a Baton Rouge blues mainstay. At age 13, Neal was playing in his father’s band, and at 17, landed a job playing bass for Buddy Guy. The guitarist recruited some of his talented siblings to form the Neal Brothers Blues Band up in Toronto before returning stateside. In 1987, Kenny Neal’s debut LP was an updated swamp feast initially released as Bio on the Bayou and later reissued as Big News from Baton Rouge!! Neal’s sizzling guitar work, sturdy harp, and gravelly, aged-beyond-his-years vocals served him well, and he cut four more albums between 1989 and 1994. An acclaimed 1991 stint on Broadway in a production of Mule Bone found him performing acoustic versions of Langston Hughes’ poetry set to music by Taj Mahal.

Kenny’s 2016 release, Bloodline, was nominated for a 2017 Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album and also won two 2017 BMAs (Blues Music Awards); one for Best Contemporary Blues Album and the other for Best Contemporary Male Blues Artist. Kenny Neal, a true living blues Legend is THE REAL DEAL and more poised than ever to deliver the blues like no one else can!

CITY LIGHTS AND STARS CONCERT SERIES: ERIC ESSIX

May 10, 2019 7:30pm Burritt on the Mountain, 3101 Burritt Drive, Huntsville, AL Based in Birmingham, Alabama, Eric Essix began as a fusion and contemporary jazz bandleader in the early 90s. He appeared on the scene with two recorded albums of light pop, fusion, and modern material for Nova. His subsequent releases for Zebra Records showed a shift from his established smooth funk to a more mature, bluesier style with a distinct Southern feel.

For Eric Essix, the year 2018 marked two inspiring milestones in his multi-faceted career. The Birmingham, Alabama based contemporary jazz guitarist released “More”, his 25th full length recording since launching his recording career in 1988 (30 years ago) with the album, First Impressions. That debut recording was the start of a creative journey that has made him a genre icon – not only for his keen ability to fashion a continuous flow of infectious melodies and funky grooves, but also because while delving into several sub-genres (pop, R&B and Gospel among them), he has artfully dismantled past ideas of what jazz is and reinvented them.

KUSH – City Lights & Stars Concert Series

May 31, 2019 7:30pm Burritt on the Mountain, 3101 Burritt Drive, Huntsville, AL KUSH was formed in Huntsville, Alabama in January 2007, at the request of local DJ Marcus Sims (Global Grooves—WJAB). A group of friends, family, and few former Reggae Mystics, came together to play for a Bob Marley birthday celebration program. After the immense success of the event, band members decided to work together permanently. Since that time, KUSH has performed multiple venues throughout the Southeast. The name KUSH comes from an ancient African empire. Many artists have influenced KUSH. Reggae ambassador Bob Marley’s influence is quite evident in the “Roots,” while artists such as Sean Paul and Beenie Man have influenced the more hard hitting “Dance Hall” styles performed by the band. The group also receives inspiration from the many “Calypso” and “Soca” artists. Kush’s mainstream influences include Sade, Bob Dylan and Santana to name a few.

Microwave Dave & The Nukes – City Lights & Stars Concert Series

August 16, 2019 7:30pm Burritt on the Mountain, 3101 Burritt Drive, Huntsville, AL.  One of
America’s favorite authors ended the year and a long-standing gig with a national shout-out to one of Huntsville’s favorite bands: Microwave Dave & the Nukes. Stephen King, of “The Shining” and “The Stand” fame, capped a seven-year streak of columns on pop culture in the magazine Entertainment Weekly with a few things he’d still like to praise. “I want to beg you to go to YouTube and check out Microwave Dave & the Nukes,” King wrote, “blasting ‘Highway 49’ at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Huntsville, Ala. That electric slide guitar will change your way of life.” “I’m kind of stunned,” electric slide guitarist Dave Gallaher said Friday. “I don’t know what to say.” Gallaher said the band first recorded the song “Highway 49” in 2003 on its album “Atomic Electric.”

“It was our concert closer,” Gallaher said. “Something we played a lot, and people have always liked it.” Gallaher said “it’s really nice for somebody way up in the world of entertainment to find the value in our work. That’s gratifying.”
